Neuer shown RED CARD for the first time in his career (Video)

4 December 2024

Manuel Neuer, goalkeeper of German giants Bayern Munich, was sent off for the first time in his career (923 matches!) during his team's match against its Bayer Leverkusen in the round of 16 of the German Football Cup.

Manuel Neuer, as usual, ventured outside the penalty area in an attempt to catch up with the ball before the Dutchman Jeremy Frimpong, who was through on goal after a long pass, but the Dutchman was closer to the ball and collided with Neuer and fell to the ground of the "Allianz Arena". The referee showed the red card directly to Neuer, which forced coach Vincent Kompany to take out Leroy Sane and bring in goalkeeper Daniel Peretz.

The veteran Manuel Neuer (38 years old) was thus sent off for the first time in his professional career on the football fields.

It is worth noting that Bayer Leverkusen is the German Cup title holder last season, while the Bavarian giants bid farewell to the competition early in the second round.
