English Premier League Champions Manchester City announced the signing of the Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush (25) from Eintracht Frankfurt, Germany, with a contract extending until the summer of 2029 according to a statement published by the English club on Thursday.

City announced the deal by saying that "the Egyptian prince is in City", noting that Marmoush's compatriot, Mohamed Salah, is nicknamed "the Egyptian king". The deal cost Manchester City 75 million euros (about 78 million US dollars).

In his first statements after moving to City, Marmoush said: "I will never forget this day", and continued: "Signing for Manchester City, one of the best teams in the world, is a great feeling. I am happy and my family is proud and we are all very happy to be here in Manchester."

Marmoush praised his current coach, Pep Guardiola, saying: “With Pep and his world-class technical staff and facilities here, the players have everything they need to improve. That was really tempting for me when I had the opportunity to come here.”

The Egyptian Prince concluded by saying: “I can’t deny that I also want to win trophies. City have been the most successful club in England for many years, so I know I’ve joined a winning environment and a winning culture. I want to learn from the staff and my teammates, and I want to become an important member of this winning team.”

Marmoush has been in fine form this season with his German team, scoring 20 goals and providing 13 assists in 26 appearances across all competitions.

What Number will Marmoush wear?

Manchester City has revealed that Marmoush will don his preferred number 7 shirt worn in both of his seasons with Eintracht Frankfurt, which was vacant at City as it was last worn by Portuguese player Joao Cancelo at the Etihad Stadium.
