French striker Kylian Mbappe led his team Real Madrid to a deserved 3-1 victory over its guest Manchester City on Wednesday evening, in the second leg of the Champions League play-off. Mbappe scored Real's hat-trick in the 4th, 33rd and 61st minutes, while Nico Gonzalez scored the face-saving goal for Manchester City in the 90+2 minute after following up on a ball that bounced off the crossbar after a shot from Egyptian Omar Marmoush from a free kick.
Mbappe was deservedly chosen as the best player in this match. Real Madrid, the title holder, renewed its first-leg victory over "City" after beating it 3-2 at home last week.
Real Madrid will meet its neighbor Atletico Madrid or German Bayer Leverkusen in the round of 16, according to the draw that will be held on Friday.
