Atletico Madrid forced a draw on its host Barcelona (4-4) in an exciting match that brought them together on Tuesday evening, in the first leg of the semi-finals of the Spanish King's Cup. "Rojiblancos" shocked the home team with two quick goals scored by Argentine striker Julian Alvarez and French midfielder Antoine Griezmann in the (1st, 6th) minutes, respectively.
The Catalan giant responded by scoring four consecutive goals through the Spanish trio: Pedro Gonzalez Lopez, Pau Coparsi and Iñigo Martinez, and Polish Robert Lewandowski in the (19th, 21st, 41st, 74th) minutes, respectively.
But Atletico Madrid came back from afar and scored two consecutive goals by Spanish player Marcos Llorente and Norwegian player Alexander Sorloth in the (84th, 90th) minutes, respectively.
The match between the two teams, Atletico Madrid and its guest Barcelona, will be renewed on Wednesday, March 2, 2025, at the "Civitas Metropolitano de Madrid Stadium" in the capital, Madrid.
