Paris Saint-Germain moved closer to the Ligue 1 title with a resounding 3-1 victory over visiting Olympique de Marseille in the "Classico de France," strengthening their grip on the top spot. Ousmane Dembélé opened the scoring for PSG in the 17th minute, following a superb pass that evaded the Marseille defense before firing into the net.
Three minutes before halftime, Portuguese left-back Nuno Mendes doubled the lead with a close-range shot, cementing the home side's grip on the match. In the second half, Marseille managed to reduce the deficit in the 51st minute with a goal scored by Algerian Amine Gouiri.
But the Parisians quickly returned to attack, scoring the third goal after sending a cross into the penalty area to Moroccan right-back Achraf Hakimi in the 76th minute, which defender Pol Lirola accidentally turned into his own net.
As the season draws to a close, Paris Saint-Germain is on course to secure the league title, undefeated, with 68 points, 19 points ahead of second-place Marseille, with just eight rounds remaining.
