After five months on the sidelines, Dani Carvajal has sent a wave of optimism among Real Madrid fans through his Instagram account, as he put on his football boots for the first time in 163 days, signaling his imminent return to the pitch. The Spanish full-back suffered three serious injuries to his right leg, including a torn cruciate ligament, an external collateral ligament, and a torn hamstring tendon, which he sustained last October.
Carvajal underwent surgery in October, after which he began his rehabilitation, which he described as "like feeling like an animal," given the physical and psychological challenges he faced during that period.
Carvajal was able to complete training for the first time on Monday after 163 days out of action for Real Madrid, beginning the process of regaining his rhythm with the ball. The 33-year-old expressed his eagerness to return to the pitch, writing on his Instagram Stories: "I missed you so much," along with a photo of the boots he wore for his first training session.
This move reflects Carvajal's determination to return to the pitch before the end of the season, despite all the hardships he has endured.
Real Madrid remains competitive on three fronts this season. They have reached the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey and the quarter-finals of the Champions League, and currently sit second in La Liga, trailing leaders Barcelona on goal difference.
