Predictions from the football statistics network Opta have placed Barcelona as favorites to win this season's Champions League, following the exit of Liverpool, the previous favorites. Liverpool, who topped Opta's favorites with a 23.9 percent chance of lifting the trophy, were eliminated early in the round of 16 after losing to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties.

With Liverpool's exit, Barcelona is now the favorite, slightly ahead of Paris Saint-Germain.

Barcelona topped the list of favorites with 20.4 percent, followed by Paris Saint-Germain with 19.3 percent, and Arsenal with 16.8 percent. Inter Milan came in fourth with 16.4 percent, while defending champions Real Madrid came in fifth with 13.6 percent.

Bayern Munich ranked sixth with 9.7 percent, followed by Aston Villa with 2.8 percent in seventh place, and Borussia Dortmund in eighth and last with just 1 percent.

To reach the final, Barcelona will have to overcome Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-finals, and then overcome the winner of the Bayern Munich-Inter Milan match if they advance to the last four.

It's worth noting that Barcelona hasn't won the Champions League since 2015.
