Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski sparked concern among the Catalan club's ranks and fans during Poland's match against Lithuania last night during the March international break. Poland played Lithuania in the first round of European qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, securing a valuable 1-0 victory thanks to a goal scored by Lewandowski in the 81st minute.
Photographers captured Lewandowski celebrating with his teammates after scoring the goal, appearing to be suffering from a muscle injury. His coach substituted him in the 86th minute, a development that terrified Barça fans, as the team awaits some tough matches after the current international break.
Poland will face Malta in the second round of the qualifiers next Monday evening.
Meanwhile, Barcelona will play its postponed match against Osasuna in the Spanish League next Thursday evening after the Spanish Football Federation rejected the two clubs' attempts to change the date.
