Argentina legend Lionel Messi took to social media to celebrate with his followers and show support for his country's national team during their match against Brazil in the top South American qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. Argentina crushed Brazil 4-1 early Wednesday morning in the 14th round of the Latin American qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

Lionel Messi missed the match, having been excluded from the squad during the current international break due to a muscle injury. This victory brought Argentina's lead at the top of the table to 31 points, after a second victory over Brazil in these qualifiers. The Samba Dancers' tally stagnated at 21 points, dropping to fourth place, trailing third-place Uruguay on goal difference.

Argentina became the fourth team to officially qualify for the 2026 World Cup, following Japan, Iran, and New Zealand, as well as tournament hosts the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
