Barcelona were held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Real Betis on Saturday, in the 30th round of the Spanish League, keeping the La Liga title race open. Barcelona took an early lead through Gavi, receiving a pass from Ferran Torres and firing a powerful shot into the net from inside the penalty area. Real Betis equalized through Nathan de Souza, assisted by Lo Celso, after a cross from a corner kick was headed home by de Souza.
Despite Barcelona's clear dominance in the second half, especially in the final minutes, which witnessed intense pressure from Lamine Yamal and Rafinha, Betis' defense held firm until the end and succeeded in snatching a valuable point. With this draw, Barcelona raised its tally to 67 points at the top of the table, just four points ahead of Real Madrid, who have 63 points. This keeps the title race open with eight rounds remaining.
It's worth noting that Real Madrid suffered a surprising 2-1 home defeat to Valencia in the same round.
Real Betis, meanwhile, raised its tally to 48 points, placing it in fifth place.
