Real Madrid will host Deportivo Alavés today, Sunday, at the Mendizorroza Stadium, in the 31st round of the Spanish League. Real Madrid are struggling after losing to Valencia in the league and then falling 3-0 in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals to Arsenal.
Real Madrid enters the match seeking victory and the three points to reduce the gap with leaders Barcelona, who widened their lead after beating Leganés.
Real Madrid is second in the Spanish League standings with 63 points, behind leaders Barcelona with 70 points, while Alavés is in 17th place with 30 points, seeking to escape the specter of relegation. Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed the availability of his player Dani Ceballos for the match against Alavés after his injury.
Real Madrid continues to be without Ferland Mendy, as well as goalkeeper Andriy Lunin.
