Borussia Dortmund secured a morale-boosting 3-1 victory over visiting Barcelona in the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinals on Tuesday. Guinean striker Serhou Guirassy excelled, scoring all three goals for Dortmund (a hat-trick in the 10th, 49th, and 76th minutes), while Barcelona's only goal came from an own goal by Algerian defender Ramy Bensebaini in the 54th minute.
Despite this loss, Barcelona qualified for the last four of the continental competition, building on their 4-0 home win last week to advance 5-3 on aggregate.
Dortmund needed a win by at least four goals to overturn their first-leg defeat, but failed to achieve that, leaving the tournament with a convincing morale-boosting victory.
Barcelona will face the winner of the match between Inter Milan and Bayern Munich in the semi-finals, with the Italian team having won the first leg 2-1.
