Napoli's Scottish international midfielder Scott McTominay was named Serie A Player of the Season after his team clinched the league title on Friday evening. McTominay led Napoli to a 2-0 home win over Cagliari in the 38th and final round of the Italian league, maintaining their one-point lead over Inter Milan, who also won 2-0 at Como.
McTominay, 28, joined Napoli from Manchester United last summer and became the player with the most goalscoring contributions in his Serie A debut, winning the first league title of his professional career.
The Scottish midfielder finished the season with 12 goals, including the opening goal in the final against Cagliari, and six assists in 34 Serie A appearances for Napoli under coach Antonio Conte.
It is worth noting that this is the fourth time that Napoli has won the Italian League title and the second time in the last three seasons.
