Manchester United announced on Monday the signing of Cameroonian striker Bryan Mbeumo on a contract until June 2030, with the option to extend for a further year. Mbeumo joined Manchester United from Brentford for £65 million ($87 million).
Mbeumo said after signing his contract with Manchester United: "As soon as I learned about the opportunity to join Manchester United, I decided I wouldn't miss the chance to sign for my dream club."
The Cameroon international added: "Every day I try to be a better player than the day before. That's my mentality. I know I have the spirit and character to reach new heights by learning from coach Ruben Amorim and playing with world-class players."
He noted, "This is a massive club with a great stadium and fantastic fans. We're all determined to compete for the biggest trophies."
Manchester United's director of football, Jason Wilcox, said, "Bryan has a very impressive record of scoring and assisting goals in the Premier League, and his incredible consistency has placed him among the league's most productive players over the last three seasons."
Mbeumo is Manchester United's second signing of the summer, following the signing of Brazilian Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Mbeumo scored 20 goals and provided eight assists for Brentford in the Premier League last season, finishing fourth in the scoring charts.
