Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, captain of the Egyptian national team and winger for Liverpool, is officially one of the most prominent global football stars, not only on the pitch, but also on social media.
Salah broke into the list of the most-followed football players on Instagram, with 66 million followers, surpassing several legends of the game, such as Luis Suárez, Andrés Iniesta, Vinicius Junior, Gareth Bale, and James Rodriguez, to take 10th spot on this coveted list.
Salah is the most popular Arab and African player on Instagram, reflecting his widespread popularity and global influence.
Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo topped the list as the most-followed player with 661 million followers, followed by Argentine Lionel Messi with 507 million, and Brazilian Neymar with 231 million.
Frenchman Kylian Mbappé came in fourth with 125 million followers, followed by football legends such as David Beckham, Ronaldinho, Benzema, Marcelo, and Sergio Ramos, before Salah appeared in tenth place.
