The Brazilian women's national team won the Copa América for the ninth time in their history, winning 5-4 on penalties in the final against Colombia after a 4-4 draw.
Brazil's Marta came on as a substitute in the 82nd minute and scored two goals, including an equalizer in stoppage time, to level the scores at 3-3. She then scored again in extra time to put Brazil ahead for the first time in the match.
Colombia equalized again, sending the match to penalties, where Brazil's experience ultimately decided the outcome.
Brazil's goals were scored by Angelina, Gutierrez, and Marta in the 45th + 9th, 80th, 90th + 6th, and 105th minutes, while Colombia's goals were scored by Linda Caicedo, Tarsian (own goal), Mayra Ramirez, and Lissy Santos in the 25th, 69th, 88th, and 115th minutes.
