Barcelona achieved their first victory in the defense of their La Liga title, defeating Real Mallorca 3-0 on Saturday in the opening match of the 2025-26 La Liga season. The Iberostar Stadium hosted the Mallorca-Barcelona match in the opening round of matches of the 2025-26 La Liga season.
Brazilian Raphinha opened the scoring for Barcelona in the 7th minute with a sublime assist from young prodigy Lamine Yamal, while Ferran Torres added the second goal for the Catalan team in the 23rd minute. Lamine Yamal completed the visitors' goal parade with an impressive curler in the 90+4th minute. The match saw two Real Mallorca players sent off in the first half. The referee showed red cards to defender Morales and then to striker Widad Muriqui for a violent tackle on the Barcelona goalkeeper.
With this victory, Barcelona opens the new season with an important victory, maintaining their impressive record against Mallorca, as the Catalan club has not tasted defeat in the last 18 matches between the two teams in La Liga.
