Paris Saint-Germain opened their Ligue 1 title defense with a hard-fought away from home on Sunday evening. Paris Saint-Germain secured a 1-0 victory over Nantes in the first round of the 2025-26 Ligue 1.
The first half of the match was a goalless draw, with neither team able to score for the first 45 minutes despite Paris Saint-Germain exerting significant pressure and possession.
In the 67th minute, Paris Saint-Germain star Vitinha scored the match's goal after a pass from Nuno Mendes. Gonçalo Ramos also scored for Paris in the 78th minute, but the referee disallowed the goal due to video technology.
With this result, Paris Saint-Germain earned its first three points of the new Ligue 1 season.
