Manchester United have reached an agreement with Fortaleza to sign highly rated Colombian midfielder Cristian Orozco, 17, once he turns 18 in July. The club are also working to finalise a deal for Charlie Hardy, a 16-year-old English goalkeeper from Derby County.

Chelsea chose not to rival Manchester City for Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, 26, during the summer window, as they aim to keep the door open for a future move for Mike Maignan, 30, the France international currently at AC Milan.

Frenkie de Jong, 28, could become a transfer target for Manchester United, with the Barcelona and Netherlands midfielder emerging on their radar.

Liverpool are also keen to secure Ibrahima Konate’s future with a new long-term deal. The 26-year-old France defender has attracted interest from Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City.

Arsenal are pursuing a €75m (£65.6m) double deal with Real Sociedad for Takefusa Kubo, 24, the Japan winger, and Lucien Agoume, a 23-year-old French defender.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United are among the clubs monitoring Eduardo Camavinga, 22, as the France midfielder weighs up his future at Real Madrid.
