Lewandowski to the Saudi League?

Lewandowski to the Saudi League?

13 October 2025

According to the Catalan newspaper "Sport," Barcelona is increasingly leaning toward not renewing Lewandowski's contract, as the club's management has already begun discussing his future and searching for suitable alternatives. Since then, reports have revealed the position of Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, regarding a potential move to the Saudi League.

The newspaper indicated that this decision was prompted by the player's age (37 years old), along with his recent decline in form and his inability to exert pressure on opponents with the same intensity as his teammates.

The newspaper confirmed that although there has been talk of the possibility of the Blaugrana seeking to renew his contract and move to Saudi Arabia, this does not appear possible, as the Polish international does not appear to be willing to accept any offers from the Saudi League. If he extends his career, he will be closer to Barcelona.

Lewandowski's agency had previously stated that there had been only inquiries, which did not rise to the level of official negotiations from the Saudi side, and that the player would continue with the team until the end of the current season as normal. Any discussions regarding the Saudi League would take place next year, specifically after January.

Robert Lewandowski joined Barcelona in the summer of 2022 from Bayern Munich. The Polish international has made 156 appearances for the Catalan club, scoring 105 goals and providing 20 assists.
