Newcastle consider Elliot Anderson return, Bayern confirm no Olise release clause, and Maguire still waiting on new Manchester United deal

Newcastle United are exploring the possibility of re-signing England midfielder Elliot Anderson, 22, from Nottingham Forest, less than a year after selling him to the Premier League rivals in 2024.

Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has confirmed that 23-year-old France winger Michael Olise — linked with several top European clubs — does not have a release clause in his current deal, which runs until June 2029.

Manchester United remain interested in Angelo Stiller, the 24-year-old Germany defensive midfielder, though Stuttgart are expected to demand over €50m (£43.5m) for his transfer.

United are also targeting Atletico Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher, viewing the 25-year-old England international as a potential successor to Kobbie Mainoo, 20.

England centre-back Harry Maguire, 32, could leave Manchester United on a free transfer next summer, with the club yet to offer him a contract extension.

Aston Villa and Newcastle United are among the sides monitoring Samuel Omorodion, the 21-year-old Porto and Spain striker who previously came close to joining Chelsea and held talks with Nottingham Forest.

England defender Fikayo Tomori, 27, is in discussions with AC Milan over a new contract and has made clear he has no desire to leave the Serie A club.

Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, 28, is believed to be open to leaving Selhurst Park, with Manchester United, Newcastle United, and Tottenham Hotspur all keeping tabs on his situation.

West Ham United are interested in signing 24-year-old Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee on loan from Manchester United during the January transfer window.

Borussia Dortmund are considering sending 20-year-old English midfielder Jobe Bellingham, who joined from Sunderland last summer, out on loan in January to gain more first-team experience.

Young English attacking midfielder Samuel Alker, 16, has yet to agree to a professional contract with Leeds United ahead of his 17th birthday in March, and is attracting strong interest from Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen.
