Bayern Munich defeated defending Champions League title holders Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 in their Champions League group stage match on Tuesday night. The Bavarian giants owe their victory to Colombian winger Luis Diaz, who scored both goals in the 4th and 32nd minutes before being sent off at the end of the first half. While PSG owe their defeat to a poor defensive performance in the first half, with captain Marquinhos giving the ball away too easily to Diaz to score the 2nd goal.
Portuguese midfielder João Neves scored PSG's lone goal in the 74th minute at the Parc des Princes stadium. Bayern Munich extended their winning streak to four matches and top the group with a perfect 12 points, ahead of Arsenal on goal difference, pending the results of the remaining matches in this round.
Paris Saint-Germain suffered their first defeat in their Champions League title defense campaign, leaving them with 9 points and dropping them to third place in the group.
