Crystal Palace open new contract talks with Adam Wharton, Tottenham target Real Madrid’s Rodrygo, and Manchester United plan midfield reinforcements in January.

Crystal Palace have opened discussions with England midfielder Adam Wharton, 21, over a new contract following his standout performances this season.

Tottenham Hotspur remain interested in Real Madrid forward Rodrygo, 24, and are prepared to meet the Spanish club’s £70m valuation for the Brazil international.

Manchester United are prioritising the signing of a central midfielder in January, with Atletico Madrid’s former Chelsea man Conor Gallagher, 25, and Stuttgart’s Germany international Angelo Stiller, 24, among their top targets.

United are also monitoring Valencia’s Javi Guerra, 22, who is attracting attention from Atletico Madrid and AC Milan.

However, the club cannot recall 22-year-old Denmark striker Rasmus Hojlund from his loan spell at Napoli in the winter window.

Scotland midfielder Scott McTominay has urged Napoli to pursue his former United teammate Kobbie Mainoo, 20, who has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford.

Wolves will support prospective new manager Rob Edwards in the upcoming transfer window, with plans to focus on signing promising, homegrown talent.

West Ham striker Niclas Fullkrug, 32, has emerged as a January loan target for AC Milan, with the Hammers open to a temporary deal for the Germany international.

Meanwhile, Danish champions Copenhagen are exploring a move for Newcastle and Sweden defender Emil Krafth, 31, in January.
