The Swiss national team is on the verge of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup after defeating their Swedish visitors 4-1 in the penultimate round of Group B in the European qualifiers.

Breil Embolo, Granit Xhaka, Dan N'Doye, and Johan Manzambi scored Switzerland's goals in the 13th, 60th, 75th, and 90+4th minutes, respectively, while Benjamin N'Geren scored Sweden's lone goal in the 33rd minute.

In another match in the same group, Kosovo defeated Slovenia 2-0.

With these results, Switzerland tops Group B with 13 points, followed by Kosovo with 10 points, ahead of their match next Tuesday.

Goal difference and head-to-head record favor Switzerland, making their qualification for the 2026 World Cup a mere formality.

Kosovo secured at least a place in the European play-offs, while Slovenia remained on 3 points in third place, and Sweden was at the bottom of the standings with one point.
