James Trafford seeks Manchester City exit, AC Milan target Jean-Philippe Mateta, Atletico prepared to sell Conor Gallagher

Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford, 23, is considering a January departure after slipping down the pecking order following the arrival of 26-year-old Italy international Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris St-Germain. Fellow City keeper Stefan Ortega, 33, could also look for a fresh opportunity.

Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, 28, is open to a move to Serie A, with AC Milan among the clubs showing interest in the French forward.

Atletico Madrid rejected a loan approach from Manchester United for Conor Gallagher last summer, but the Spanish side are now prepared to let the 25-year-old England midfielder leave for around £26m in January or the summer.

Newcastle and Denmark striker William Osula, 22, remains a target for Eintracht Frankfurt, though the Bundesliga club have cooled their interest in West Ham and Germany forward Niclas Füllkrug, 32.

Tottenham want to sign Porto’s Spanish forward Samu Aghehowa, 21, in January but fear Manchester City could beat them in the race to land Bournemouth’s Ghanaian attacker Antoine Semenyo, 25.

Former Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos, 39, intends to return to Europe when his contract with Mexican club Monterrey expires at the end of December, with AC Milan among the clubs showing admiration.

Nottingham Forest are monitoring Inter Milan defender Stefan de Vrij, 33, with the Netherlands international out of contract this summer.
