Ibrahim Diaz, scorer of the first goal of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and Man of the Match in the opening game, expressed his delight at Morocco's 2-0 victory over Comoros on Sunday.
The Moroccan team waited until the second half for Diaz to score the first goal in the 56th minute, followed by Ayoub El Kaabi's second goal in the 76th minute.
Diaz said in post-match comments, "It was a difficult match because the opponent sat back with eleven players, and we had to constantly press and create many scoring opportunities, which we ultimately succeeded in doing."
He added that securing the win in the first match and earning the three points will give the team an important morale boost for the remainder of the tournament, praising the atmosphere created by the fans in Rabat.
He continued, "It was wonderful to play in Rabat in front of such a supportive crowd. This victory requires us to maintain our unity and focus until the end of the tournament."
Diaz concluded his remarks by emphasizing his strong connection with the Moroccan fans, saying: "I feel everyone's love, and this gives me extra motivation to do my best. I am happy to be here, and I will give everything I have for the national team."
