The Round of 16 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, hosted by Morocco, concluded on Tuesday evening, completing the list of the top eight teams after a series of thrilling matches.
Ivory Coast became the final team to qualify for the quarter-finals after a resounding 3-0 victory over Burkina Faso, allowing the Elephants to successfully continue their title defense.
The Round of 16 matches were highly competitive. Senegal opened their journey to the quarter-finals with a well-deserved 3-1 win over Sudan, while Mali narrowly defeated Tunisia 3-2 on penalties. Morocco secured their place as the first Arab team to qualify with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Tanzania in a match played last Sunday. On the same day, Cameroon eliminated South Africa with a 2-1 win.
Arab football continued its impressive run with Egypt's qualification after overcoming Benin 3-1 in extra time, while Nigeria showcased its strength with a resounding 4-0 victory over Mozambique.
Algeria completed the list of Arab qualifiers after a hard-fought 1-0 win against DR Congo in extra time.
