Mbappe declares full fitness as he targets uninterrupted run-in with Real Madrid

Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe has confirmed he has fully recovered from his recent knee injury and is aiming to feature in every remaining match of the season as he prepares for the upcoming World Cup.

The 27-year-old missed four league fixtures earlier in 2026 due to a lingering issue carried over from last season. However, he marked his return by coming off the bench in the 64th minute during Madrid’s 3-2 victory over Atletico Madrid on Sunday.

Mbappe has since been included in France national team squad for upcoming international friendlies against Brazil national team on March 26 and Colombia national team three days later in the United States—one of the host nations for this summer’s tournament alongside Canada and Mexico.

Speaking to AS, Mbappe expressed confidence in his physical condition and outlined his approach heading into the final stretch of the campaign.

“I have made a 100 per cent recovery,” he said. “My preparation for major tournaments has always been based on playing consistently, scoring goals, and competing for titles with my club. This year will be no different as I aim to arrive in peak condition.”

France have been drawn in Group I for the World Cup, where they will face Norway national team, Senegal national team, and the winner of an intercontinental playoff.
