Al-Ittihad have revived their pursuit of Mohamed Salah, while Manchester United are monitoring Iliman Ndiaye, and Barcelona are preparing a move for Alessandro Bastoni.

Al-Ittihad previously saw a £150m bid for Mohamed Salah rejected by Liverpool in 2023, but the Saudi Pro League side have now reignited their interest in the 33-year-old Egypt international, who is set to become a free agent following his departure from Anfield this summer.

Salah attracted less attention than expected during the January transfer window, and in negotiating his exit, Liverpool’s ownership group, Fenway Sports Group, ultimately decided that pushing for a transfer fee could complicate matters further.

Liverpool have also maintained contact with former Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso, who previously won the Champions League with the club as a player. The Spaniard is understood to be open to replacing Arne Slot this summer, provided certain conditions are met.

The Reds have been linked with Michael Olise as a potential replacement for Salah, although Bayern Munich remain relaxed about the 24-year-old’s situation, with the winger under contract until 2029 and without a release clause.

Manchester United are assessing several options ahead of a potential return to European competition, including 19-year-old Yan Diomande of RB Leipzig, Lewis Hall of Newcastle United, and Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye.

Meanwhile, United midfielder Casemiro, who is expected to leave the club this summer, agreed in January to remove a clause that would have triggered a one-year contract extension had he reached 35 starts this season.

The club are also confident of finding a buyer for Marcus Rashford should Barcelona decide against making his £26m loan move permanent.

Barcelona’s interest in Alessandro Bastoni could face competition from Liverpool, with both clubs monitoring the Inter Milan defender’s situation.

At Newcastle, manager Eddie Howe retains the backing of the club hierarchy despite growing frustration among supporters following their Champions League exit to Barcelona and a defeat against rivals Sunderland.

Elsewhere, Vinicius Jr has reiterated his desire to remain at Real Madrid for the long term, with a contract extension for the 25-year-old expected.

Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo has also dismissed speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid, insisting he is fully committed to the London club.

Finally, Juventus are close to agreeing a new contract with Dusan Vlahovic, whose current deal is due to expire this summer.
