Liverpool manager Arne Slot insists he retains the full backing of the club’s hierarchy despite a worrying dip in form that has put their season at risk.
The Reds head into Saturday’s Premier League clash with Fulham on the back of three consecutive defeats, including a heavy 4-0 loss to Manchester City in the FA Cup and a 2-0 setback against Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.
Last season’s league champions are now facing a real fight just to secure a top-five finish and qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Despite growing scrutiny, Slot remains confident in the support from both Liverpool’s leadership and fanbase during a difficult period.
“I’ve said it many times, I feel a lot of support — not only from the owners, but also from Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards,” Slot said.
The Dutchman also highlighted the continued backing from supporters, even after recent disappointing performances.
“After the 4-0 loss to City, the fans were still singing ‘We love you, Liverpool’. Even after being outplayed in Paris, they were clapping and supporting us. That’s something we’ve constantly felt.”
Slot believes the club understands the broader context of their current struggles.
“The club knows the period we are in, and I feel complete support.”
Liverpool’s recent form — just two wins in their last eight matches — has left them in a precarious position at a crucial stage of the campaign.
With the return leg against PSG looming just days after the Fulham fixture, Slot acknowledged the importance of the upcoming run of games.
“These are defining moments,” he said. “We’ve not put ourselves in the best situation, but we’re still in the tie and there are massive league games coming up.”
As pressure builds at Anfield, Liverpool must quickly rediscover consistency or risk seeing their season unravel on multiple fronts.
