16 April 2026

Bayern Munich qualified for the Champions League semi-finals after a hard-fought 4-3 victory over Real Madrid in the second leg of their quarter-final tie. The match started in a frantic fashion, with Arda Güler opening the scoring for Real Madrid after just 35 seconds, capitalizing on a glaring error by goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. However, Bayern Munich equalized in the sixth minute through Aleksandar Pavlović.

In the 29th minute, Güler struck again, this time from a direct free kick, but the Bavarian side leveled the score once more through their star striker Harry Kane in the 38th minute.

Before the end of the first half, Real Madrid regained the lead, scoring their third goal in the 42nd minute through Kylian Mbappé.

In the second half, the Bavarian giants turned the tables on their visitors, capitalizing on Real Madrid being reduced to ten men after Eduardo Camavinga's dismissal in the 86th minute. Luis Diaz and Michael Ulissi scored the third and fourth goals in the 89th and 90+4th minutes, respectively.

Bayern had won the first leg 2-1 in the Spanish capital, Madrid, thus advancing to the semi-finals with a 6-4 aggregate victory.

Bayern Munich will now face defending champions Paris Saint-Germain, who eliminated Liverpool with two 2-0 wins in each leg.
