Ipswich Town secured promotion to the English Premier League after defeating Queens Park Rangers 3-0 on Saturday in the final match of the Championship season.
Ipswich Town finished second with 84 points, joining Coventry City, the champions who had already secured promotion, in the Premier League next season.
Ipswich returns to the top flight after a one-year absence, having been relegated at the end of the 2024/25 season.
Ipswich Town opened the scoring in the third minute through George Hurst, followed by Jaden Filogeny's goal in the ninth minute.
Kasey McAteer sealed the victory with Ipswich Town's third goal in the 85th minute. The four teams that will compete in the playoffs for the third and final promotion spot to the Premier League next season have been confirmed. Millwall finished third with 83 points after a 2-0 win over Oxford United. Southampton finished second, three points behind, after a 3-1 victory away to Preston North End. Middlesbrough and Hull City also finished third.
Middlesbrough drew 2-2 with Wrexham, meaning Wrexham, owned by American actor Ryan Reynolds, missed out on the playoff spot just one year after their promotion from the Championship.
Wrexham had achieved promotion in four consecutive seasons, climbing from the non-league to League Two, then League One, and finally to the Championship at the start of this season.
