Argentine Gonzalo Higuain is back in the spotlight, but this time not because of his lethal goals or the scoring skills that have captivated fans for years, but because of his new look, which has sparked a wave of comments and discussions on social media platforms.

The former Real Madrid striker, who was recently spotted in the stands during a match, surprised everyone with a completely unexpected appearance. Far from the image of the agile and sharp striker he was known for throughout his golden years in European football, "El Pipita" appeared today with a more relaxed and fuller physique, with some noticeable extra weight, in addition to a hairstyle unlike anything he had sported during his illustrious career.
This sudden transformation in appearance quickly sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some expressing astonishment at the stark contrast between his current image and that of the lethal goalscorer and physically fit athlete he once was on the pitches of major European stadiums.
Others, however, saw it as perfectly normal for a former athlete living a normal life away from the pressures and strict obligations of professional football. A career brimming with achievements.
As a reminder, Gonzalo Higuaín, 37, left an indelible mark on the history of several major football clubs. He scored 121 goals for Real Madrid, where he was one of the club's most prominent strikers from 2007 to 2013, forming a formidable attacking partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.
He then moved to Napoli in Italy, where he continued his prolific scoring form, netting 91 goals, before transferring to Juventus, where he added another 66 goals to his tally, cementing his status as one of the most dangerous strikers in Europe. He concluded his professional career with Inter Miami in Major League Soccer in 2022, officially announcing his retirement after a career spanning more than 17 years at the highest level.
A distinguished international career despite some disappointments
Internationally, Higuaín made 75 appearances for the Argentine national team, scoring 32 goals. He played for a long period as part of a highly competitive team vying for attacking positions, alongside such luminaries as Carlos Tevez, Sergio Agüero, and Lionel Messi.
Despite his impressive statistics, Higuaín suffered from misfortune in major tournaments, missing crucial opportunities in the 2014 World Cup and the 2015 and 2016 Copa América finals. This made him a target of harsh criticism from Argentine fans, despite his high level of performance at club level.
