Jurgen Klopp is in line to become Germany's next head coach after the German Football Association (DFB) confirmed he is "fundamentally willing" to take charge following Julian Nagelsmann's resignation.
Nagelsmann stepped down on Friday despite having a contract until 2028, just four days after Germany's disappointing FIFA World Cup Round of 32 exit to Paraguay.
In an official statement, the DFB confirmed it will now begin discussions with Klopp, who previously managed Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund, while also thanking Nagelsmann for his nearly three years in charge of the national team.
