Neymar marked his return to the Santos by scoring twice in a 2-2 draw against Chapecoense this Sunday, following the conclusion of his World Cup 2026 campaign with the Brazilian national team.
He opened the scoring for Santos in the 36th minute, but Chapecoense responded with two goals—one from Marcinho in the 51st minute and an own goal by João Ananias in the 62nd minute. However, Neymar played the hero, snatching a dramatic equalizer for his team via a penalty kick just a minute before the final whistle.
Neymar drew attention with his celebration for the first goal—scored after a slick exchange inside the box with Álvaro Barreal—by mimicking the motion of dealing playing cards.
This celebration served as a response to the criticism he faced for participating in a poker tournament while Santos was playing a Copa Sudamericana match against UCV—a game Santos ultimately won 4-1.
