"I really enjoyed it"

An English press report said, today, Thursday, that Phil Foden moved from being an outcast last season, under the leadership of Pep Guardiola and his absence from the World Cup, to a prominent star this season.

The English newspapers published a report about the major transformation in the English player’s career, entitled: “Foden exposes Guardiola.”

“I really enjoyed it,” Foden confirmed, after Manchester City’s crushing victory over AEK Athens (5/1), on Tuesday, in the Champions League.

The Englishman scored a hat-trick and assisted a goal for Sharqi, and played a pivotal role in the team’s return to winning ways in the most important European club championship.

Foden played as a false striker, a position in which the Manchester native felt comfortable.

The English player explained: “I still have a long way to go to reach my best level, but I am moving in the right direction, and scoring always helps me.”

The striker also received praise from his coach in a press conference, where Maresca said he considered him one of the best English players.

He continued: "He has not been at his best over the past two or three seasons for various reasons, but I know how good he is and I am trying to help him. I am sure that he will be a valuable addition to us this season."

Foden returned at just the right time, as there is no natural replacement for Haaland, and one of the options that Marisca is considering to replace the Norwegian, Semenyu, will be absent for eight weeks.

Foden returned to the team against Ipswich Town in the last match, scoring his first goal in ten months, ending his goal drought, and he scored four goals in his last two matches.

At the Etihad Stadium, Foden is considered a big star. Even more so because he is from Manchester, a youth academy graduate, and a loyal Manchester City fan since his childhood. “He's one of us,” chant the loyal Sky Blue fans as Foden shines across the pitch with the ball attached to his left foot.

Foden is out of Guardiola's accounts

This comes after his luster diminished in recent seasons, from a promising player to a forgotten player. From the best player in the English Premier League to a player that Guardiola dispensed with.

His performances declined, his influence diminished, and he was eventually left out of Tuchel's World Cup squad last summer.

He was forced to watch the matches from home. However, Foden remains optimistic. If he maintains the level he showed in the last two matches, his chances of representing his country's national team will increase again.

All he needs to do is prove that his strong comeback is permanent, and not just the result of a couple of good matches.
