Large Delegation Heads to London
Jan-Christian Dreesen, CEO of Bayern Munich, confirmed that a large delegation from the club is traveling to London to attend the Ballon d'Or ceremony, scheduled for tomorrow, Monday—with hopes that Harry Kane might be awarded the prestigious prize.
Dreesen stated that the club would be absolutely delighted if Kane were to win the Ballon d'Or, praising the English striker’s contributions to both Bayern Munich and his national team.
"Harry breaks records year after year, but his 73 goals for Bayern Munich and the England national team carry special significance this time around," Dreesen explained. He described the English forward as a "360-degree striker"—someone who possesses a complete view of the pitch, works tirelessly, and elevates the performance of his teammates.
In comments reported by a German media outlet, Dreesen added that Kane has continued to evolve his style of play, helping to transform the way the entire team performs. He described him as a world-class star who combines humility with sophistication, serving as an exemplary role model.
Dreesen’s remarks were not limited to Kane; he also praised the Frenchman Michael Olise, asserting that he deserves his place among the nominees and expressing his belief that the player will one day win the Ballon d'Or.
The CEO noted that having multiple Bayern representatives on the list of nominees serves as recognition for an exceptional season, pointing out that, for the first time in a decade, four players from the squad have been included among the nominees. He also noted that Vincent Kompany has been nominated for the award for best coach in the world, while both the Bayern women’s and men’s teams have been nominated for the best club award—a first for the organization.
Dreesen concluded his remarks by stating that the club’s delegation would head to London "with great humility, hoping to celebrate winning an award or two."
Should Kane—who is 33 years old, according to the source—win, he would become the first Bayern Munich player to be awarded the Ballon d'Or since Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in 1981.
